The album art kinda caught my eye, it was in the .99 cent bin at Easy Street, why not? After a little research on the interwebs, I found out Disband were from North Carolina, and it shows. Sounding like a cross between Superchunk, Archers Of Loaf, Polvo, Jawbox, Seam, Unwound etc. But maybe a little too much. Don't get me wrong, I like it a lot, it's a fun listen. Sometimes it's okay for a band not break new ground, or push the envelope; I get a kick out of listening to a new(ish) band doing this sound that could have come out in the mid 90's. In a way, it's a tribute to a time when music seemed wide open and people were doing new things with recording techniques, new song structures, etc. If you can just pop this in and enjoy it for what it is; cool. If not, no big. But I like it a lot, it's been playing in my room the entire day, twice already now. Highly recommended....11 songs makes the count at 17708...
