3rd full length from the Screaming Trees. I found this one (again) at Lot 49 near my work for $5. Damn, what a bargain! This one is one of my favorite Screaming Trees albums. It has the noisiness of their punk/hardcore past with a heavy psych sound. Not that hippy dippy psych like the Grateful Dead or Jefferson Airplane, but closer to Hawkwind or Blue Cheer. Mark Lanegan has a hell of voice for this too. So raw and throaty, he just oozes despair and desperation. Even early on in the Screaming Trees career. After acquiring this one, I'm jonesing for more earlier Screaming Trees material, I saw one more album there at Lot 49 I think, I'm going to have to get it. I'm not a fan of anything after "Uncle Anesthesia", that album "Sweet Oblivion"? Just wasn't into it. But who knows? Maybe time has been kinder than I remember to even that one. I had this one on cassette, so I at least know what happened to it, got eaten up and wore out! Literally not a bad song on here, you could do no wrong by picking this one up even new at SST's website. This has put me on a "grunge" kick for sure....
12 songs makes the count at 17385...
