He Dances For Nickels...

A great bargain hunter http://hedancesfornickels.blogspot.com/ commented on The Cheapest Quest a while back, and I had been waiting for an album to come across my way to do the same. His post on the Bjork album, Selmasongs inspired me to return the favour. I've always enjoyed his Sunday Fileshare on the Livewire message board, and his tastes are all over the map ( in a good way, mind you). Pop, Hardcore, Shoegaze, Britpop, you name it. After watching the movie Suckerpunch with a friend, the Bjork song "Army Of Me" being featured in it, I knew immediately that I didn't have this definitive 90's album and that I had to change that right quick. Silver Platters didn't have one used but had a new one for $7. Done. I have "Debut", but that's pretty much it. I have no idea why there aren't more Bjork albums in my life, there all enjoyable, challenging, curious things. Good thing you can mostly find them cheaply in the used bins. While I like her "Debut" album a bit more as a whole, you pretty much can't find a better opening track like "Army Of Me". The rest of the albums songs are top notch; "Hyperballad", "Isobel", "Possibly Maybe", "I Miss You" are classics today. It's so weird to think that such forward thinking music is now 16 years old. Bjork tries not to repeat herself if memory serves me. I really need to get a hold of some more of her discography....

11 songs makes the count at 17432....
